1436 Baby Cashmere Rarity

At Etuoke of Ordos, 105 degrees East and 40 degrees North, among the vast expanses of Inner Mongolia Plateau, lays hidden one of the world's rarest fibers, the Arbas baby cashmere.

1436 is named after the specifications of Arbas baby cashmere fiber: an average fineness of less than 14.5 microns and length over 36 millimeters, which represent the standard of diamond-quality cashmere. A Brand Originated From Charity

In July 2005, at the VIP event of Erdos Group held in Shenzhen, 10 cashmere sweaters were presented for charity auction. The sweaters were produced with the material which was the closest to the specification of 1436 baby cashmere at the time. The guests were amazed by the extrodinary quality of the cashmere sweaters, and more than a total of one million RMB donations were raised for the construction of Yunnan Hope Primary School. The successful auction reflected the guests' recognition of the excellent quality of the cashmere material.
In 2006, 1436 was officially founded as an independent brand. Named after the specification of the diamond-quality baby cashmere, it represents the brand's confidence and commitment to the superior materials.

The Founder

In 2006 Wang Zhen leveraged ERDOS Group's resourcers in the cashmere industry over the past tow decades, created the brand"1436"as a world-class cashmere brand. Then products of “1436” were selected as national gifts in 2008. Accompanying the visits of China’s leaders, they become bonds of friendship between leaders in China and those from the rest of the world. Honored as an exclusive Souvenir supplier for the 22nd APEC Economic Leader's Meeting in 2014, the brand completed its mission as a diplomatic gift at the G20 summit, sharing with the world the warmth and brightness of the world-class cashmere scarf. At the end of 2014, “1436” brand opened a boutique store in Beijing’s most prosperous business district, SKP, which made it the only Chinese brand standing in the international luxury brand area at the time.

Since 2013, as a response to the great transition of China’s macro economy, Wang Zhen and her team, after months of discussion and analysis, decided to reposition the brands of ERDOS Group to cater to different groups of customers. On September 1, 2016, ERDOS Group held a “A Glorious Rebirth” press day in Beijing, officially identified its brands as “ERDOS”, “ERDOS 1980”, “1436” and “BLUE ERDOS”. As an effort of systematic reform and brand upgrading, ERDOS Group provides a successful example of corporate transformation in times of rising industrial and consumption upgrading in China. On November 5, 2017, Wang Zhen was awarded the Award of Excellence of “Ram Charan Management Practice Award”, the highest honor for management practices in China, at the annual conference in China of Ceremony of Revival • New Business Operations Talk, hosted by the annual China comference of Harvard Business Review.

In 2013, as the operation of 1436 matured, Wang Zhen entered into the management as the assistant to the chairman and the director of office of the board of directors in ERDOS Group. At the same time, she was officially appointed as the general manager of the ERDOS Cashmere Group. At the end of 2014, she was appointed Vice President and Member of the Executive Committee of ERDOS Investment Holding Group, making her the youngest among the seven executive committee members of ERDOS Group.
